【摘要】:Assessmentoftheconditionofagedcoatedsurfacesstrengthensdecisionsonwhencoatingmaintenanceisrequired,aidsintheselectionofeffectivecoatingmaintenanceprocedures,andprovidesameanstocharacterizeperformanceofcoatingsystems.1.1Thisguidedescribesgeneralproceduresforconductingadetailedassessmentoftheconditionofagedcoatingsonsteelstructuresandtheextentofrustbreakthroughofthecoatedsurface.Additionalassessmentmayberequiredtosupportcoatingfailureanalysesorotherjobspecificneeds.1.2Thisguidedoesnotaddresstheproblemofdeterminingthestructuralconditionofasteelsubstrate.Itprovidesprocedurestodeterminethepercentofthesurfacerusted,butnottheseverity,condition,orcauseofsuchrusting.Note1Amorecomprehensiveconditionassessmentprocedure,PracticeF1130,hasbeendevelopedfordeterminingtheconditionofcoatingsonaship.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
