【摘要】:Thistestmethodissuitableforsettingspecificationsonthematerialsreferencedin1.2andforuseasaninternalqualitycontroltoolwhereisopropylbenzeneisproducedorisusedinamanufacturingprocess.Itmayalsobeusedindevelopmentorresearchworkinvolvingisopropylbenzene.Thistestmethodisusefulindeterminingthepurityofisopropylbenzenewithnormalimpuritiespresentincludingdiisopropylbenzenes.Ifextremelyhighboilingorunusualimpuritiesarepresentintheisopropylbenzene,thistestmethodwouldnotnecessarilydetectthemandthepuritycalculationwouldbeerroneous.Cumenehydroperoxide,ifpresent,willyielddecompositionproductsthatwilleluteinthechromatogramtherebygivingincorrectresults.ThenonaromatichydrocarbonscommonlypresentfromtheisopropylbenzenemanufacturingprocesswillinterferewiththedeterminationofbenzenewhenColumnAinTable1isused.Theinternalstandardmustbesufficientlyresolvedfromanyimpurityandtheisopropylbenzenepeak.1.1Thistestmethodcoversthedeterminationofthepurityofisopropylbenzene(cumene)bygaschromatography.1.2Thistestmethodhasbeenfoundapplicabletothemeasurementofimpuritiessuchasnonaromatichydrocarbons,benzene,ethylbenzene,t-butylbenzene,n-propylbenzene,alpha-methylstyrene,sec-butylbenzene,anddiisopropylbenzene,whicharecommontothemanufacturingprocessofisopropylbenzene.Limitofdetectionfortheseimpuritiesis10mg/kg(see5.1).1.3Indeterminingtheconformanceofthetestresultsusingthismethodtoapplicablespecifications,resultsshallberoundedoffinaccordancewiththerounding-offmethodofPracticeE29.1.4Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.Forspecifichazardstatements,seeSection7.
